Police have launched an appeal following a fatal collision in Redditch.
West Mercia Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after a crash on the A441 Alvechurch Highway yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, April 23).
The collision happened at around 2.30pm and involved three vehicles including a blue Volkswagen Golf GTE, a grey Vauxhall Crossland and a red Fiat 500X.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch with serious injuries.
Another man was also taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.
Despite the best efforts from paramedics, the driver of one of the vehicles, a woman in her 60s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "If you witnessed the collision or have dash cam footage from around the time it happened, please email sciusouth@westmercia.police.uk or call 101 extension 773 3440 quoting 241i of 23 April.
"Alternatively, if you do not feel comfortable speaking with the police, information can be shared anonymously with the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by visiting www.crimestoppers-uk.org."
