POLICE swooped on a property in Redditch as part of a warrant and uncovered a cannabis farm.
West Mercia Police carried out the raid on Thursday morning (April 18) and arrested two men after the cannabis farm was discovered.
Officers said that a total of 220 plants were seized at an address in Abbeydale during the operation.
The two men, aged 41 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and remain in police custody while enquiries continue.
Sergeant David Roberts from Redditch Safer Neighbourhood Team who undertook the operation, said: “Cannabis farms such as the one discovered today in Abbeydale are often linked to serious and organised crime gangs.
“Their illegal activity can have negative impacts on our communities and is something we will not tolerate. Our actions today will have dismantled their operations and prevented more people becoming victims of their crimes.”
West Mercia Police are encouraging the local community to help them by continuing to report any signs of criminal activity on their website.
The force said: “Any bit of information, no matter how small it may seem, could help make a big difference.
“If you have information about drugs and drugs supply and don’t want to speak to police, you can report information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or Crimestoppers.
“This investigation forms part of Operation Target – West Mercia Police’s work to tackle serious and organised crime”.
